I was a navet, made 7 runs with the Gold crew, coming on right after the first yard period. Went to the Holland for my last 9 months and this was enough to make me really, really appreciate the Lafayette and the crewmembers I was fortunate enough to serve with. Most all of my memories of the boat and patrols are good ones and the fun times..however, I wouldn't want to do another one!! Have lived in Monroe, Louisiana for 29 years and work for Honeywell servicing control systems for the pulp and paper industry. 7 patrols makes me appreciate all the outdoor stuff I get to do here!

Reactor Controls--was on gold crew before shipyard overhaul in Newport News then the blue crew. Many good memories. Remember the swim in the middle of the Atlantic during transit from Charleston to Gitmo after overhaul? Also some great over-the-hump parties.
Selected to Warrant then Limited Duty Officer. Retired in 1982 as LCDR. Now living in Texas.
